Bosch Security Systems Korea steps out to become a Sales Organization

The hollow beating of the traditional Korean drum boomed through the Bosch Security Systems office in Korea on 19 September 2011, officially marking the upgrade of the front office in Korea to a sales organization.

President of Robert Bosch Korea, Hermann Kaess, said this strategic move is expected to make a significant contribution to the local market as a total security vendor which will help to further grow and diversify Bosch’s business in Korea.

He said: “Korea’s security market is noteworthy for the businesses as the marketplace has a great deal of data and knowledge as Korea is one of the top IT-advanced countries. Notably in Korea, there exist a lot of robust security companies and their solution and technology are evaluated as world-class.”

Vice President Sales ASEAN and South Korea, Bosch Security Systems Asia Pacific, Chan Yit Ming, shared that among the other offices in ASEAN, South Korea has been selected as one of the earliest ones to be upgraded because the large market size there for security systems can favourably offer Bosch a significant growth potential.

With this upgrade, the office will be able to execute more accurate business plans as the new presence of a dedicated controller will give them a better financial overview. Also, they can now provide selling prices in the Korean Won, which provides greater pricing consistency and will satisfy customers better.

Vice President Sales Asia Pacific, Bosch Security Systems Asia Pacific, Alexander Blome emphasized on the importance of Bosch to be close to the Korea market as Korea is a key market for security, safety and communications in Asia Pacific Region. He said: “Having an own organization will allow us to detect the trends in this highly innovative market at an early stage.” As an organization, the office will also be better equipped to strengthen relationships with expanding companies to build a foundation for an international partnership with them.

While there may be strong competition in the Korea security market due to the presence of many key industry players, Bosch is confident of doing well.

Kim Kyoungnam, General Manager, Bosch Security Systems Korea, highlighted that Bosch stands out from the rest with the localization efforts like the establishing of a local repair service center as well as a local warehouse. He said: “Such localization efforts affirm our commitment to satisfying the needs of our customers in Korea.”
